If 2x(4-6) = -2x+12, what is the value of x?​

We need to find the value of x in

  • 2x ( 4 - 6 ) = - 2x + 12

Simplifying ,

⇒ 2x ( - 2 ) = - 2x + 12

⇒ - 4x + 2x = 12

⇒ - 2x = 12

⇒ x = 12 ÷ - 2

x = - 6

Hence , x = - 6

Verification :-

By substituting the value of in the given equation , if LHS = RHS . So , our answer is right !.

➵ 2 ( - 6 ) ( 4 - 6 ) = - 2 ( - 6 ) + 12

➵ - 12 ( - 2 ) = 12 + 12

24 = 24

LHS = RHS
