The General form of a pair of linear equations  in two variables x & y is: a1x + b1y + c1 = 0
and   a2x+b2y + c2= 0

Given linear equation is 2x+5y= 4

General form of linear equation:
2x + 5y - 4= 0………….(1)

For coincident lines:
a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2

Any line coincident to equation 1 may be taken as:

4x +10 y - 8 = 0

Hence, another  linear  equation, so  that  lines  represented  by  the pair are  coincident = 4x +10 y - 8 = 0
