If the given terms are in AP, then difference of adjacent terms will be same

x+10 - 2x = 5x+2 - (x+10)

-x+10 = 4x-8

5x = 18

x = 3.6

AnsWer :

x = 18/5

Solution :

We have,

 \:  \:  \tt2x , x + 10 \:  and  \: 5x +2 \:  in  \: AP.

 \dagger \:  \:  \tt{It  \: means  \: there \:  common } \\ \tt{  difference \:  be \:   \: equal.}

So,

Let's,

  • a = 2x.
  • b = x + 10.
  • c = 5x +2.

 \tt\mapsto  \big \langle \langle  \:  \: b - a = c - b.

 \tt\mapsto x + 10 - 2x = 5x + 2 - x - 10.

 \tt \mapsto x - 2x + 10 = 5x - x + 2 - 10.

 \tt \mapsto  - x + 10 = 4x + 2 - 10.

 \tt\mapsto  - x - 4x =  - 10 - 10 + 2.

 \tt\mapsto  - 5x =  - 18.

 \tt \mapsto x =  \frac{18}{5} .

therefore, the value of x is 18/5.

Some information :

  • AP define as When any sequence follow common difference be d same [ like second term and first term be d / third term and second term or, so on.. ] then, this team be in AP.
