 Given \: 2x - y = 2 \: --(1) \:and \: 5x + 2y = 14 \: --(2)

/* Multiplying equation (1) by 2 and add equation (2) , we get */

 2(2x-y) + 5x + 2y = 4 + 14

 \implies 4x - 2y + 5x + 2y = 18

 \implies 9x  = 18

 \implies x  = \frac{18}{9}

 \implies x  = 2

Therefore.,

 Option \: \pink { ( i ) } \: is \: correct.
