Step-by-step explanation:

2x+y=22 (1)

x + y = 29 (2)

multiply the equation (2) by 2

2x + 2y = 48 (3)

eq (3) - (1)

2x - 2x + 2y = 48 - 22

0 +y = 27

y = 27

substitute the value of y in eq 2

x + 27 = 29

x = 29 - 27 = 2

therefore the value of

x =2 & y =27

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+y=22 ....(1)

x+y=29 ....(2)

Multiplying equ (2) by 2 we get,

2x+2y=58 ....(3)

Subtracting equ (3) & (1)

2x+2y=58

- 2x+y = 22

0x+y= 36

y= 36

Substituting the value of y=36 in equ (1) we get,

2x+y = 22

2x+36=22

2x= 22 - 36

2x = -14

x= -14

2

x= -7

x+y = -7 + 36 = 29

x+y = 29
