ANSWER:

  • Value of the above expression is 31.

GIVEN:

  • 2x + y = 23
  • 4x - y = 19

TO FIND:

  • Value of (5y - 2x)

SOLUTION:

=> 2x + y = 23 ....(i)

=> 4x - y = 19 ...(ii)

Adding eq (i) and (ii)

=> 2x+4x = 23+19

=> 6x = 42

=> x = 42/6

=> x = 7

Putting x = 7 in eq (i)

=> 2(7) + y = 23

=> y = 23- 14

=> y = 9

Finding (5y - 2x)

= 5(9) - 2(7)

= 45 - 14

= 31

Value of the above expression is 31.

Value of x is 7

Value of y is 9.
