2x+y=50

3x+2y=8

.

by substitution method

2x=50-y

x= 50-y/2

.

now put value of x in eq 2

3(50-y/2) +2y=8

150-3y/2 +2y=8

150-3y+4y=16

150-y=16

-y=16-150

-y=-134

y=134

.

now put value of y in eq 1

2x+134=50

2x=50-134

x=-84/2

x=-42

.

now the value of x+y= -42+134 = 92

therefore, value of x+y is 92
