if 2x+y=9 and 3x-y =6 then find the value ofx+y

Hey there ,
Elimination method is used here :-
2x+y = 9.... (i)
+3x-y = 6.... (ii)
------------------
5x = 15
=>x = 15/5 = 3
Now ,
Substituting x = 3 in eqn (i).
2*3 + y = 9
=>6+y = 9
=>y =9-6 = 3
.: x+y = 3+3 = 6.
