If 2x + y is equal to 12 and and 3X - y is equal to 13 then find value of x

2x+y=12___1

3x-y=13___2

add 1 and 2

5x=25

x=5

substitute x=5 in 1

2x+y=12

2×5+y=12

10+y=12

y=2
