Given,

(2x- y ) : (x+2y) = 4 : 7

So , we get two equations ,

☞ 2x - y = 4 ———(i)

and x + 2y = 7 ———(ii)

★ Now,

 \bold{ \tt{{eq}^{n} (i) }}\implies \: 2x - y = 4

\implies \:  \underline \bold{ y = 2x - 4}———(iii)

★ \: \bold{ \tt{Putting  \:  \: the  \:  \: valu e  \: of  \: y  \: in  \: {eq}^{n}(ii), \:  we \:  get ,}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  {x + 2(2x–4) = 7}

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies {x + 4x \: – \: 8 = 7}

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies {5x \:= 7 + 8}

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies {5x \:= 15}

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies {x \:=  \frac{15}{5} }

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies  \bold {\underbrace{x \:=  3 }}

★ \: \bold{ \tt{Putting  \:  \: the  \:  \: valu e  \: of  \: x  \: in  \: {eq}^{n}(iii), \:  we \:  get ,}}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  y = 2 × 3  \: – \:  4

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies \: y = 6 - 4

\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \implies \:  \bold{ \underbrace{y = 2}}

Now ,

 \large \bold \colorbox{yellow}{x : y  \:  = 3 : 2}
