Let p(x) = 2x^{2} +x+a

Put, x=3 in p(x)

2(3^{2} ) + 3 +a =1

a+21=1

a=1-21

a=-20

Answer:-20

Step-by-step explanation:

we divide the equation and get the quotient as 2x+7

and remainder as 21+a

now 21+a=1

so solving this we got a as -20
