Answer:

if cost of 31/2 litres of petrol is 49

then let the cost of 15 litres of milk be x rupees

This is a case of direct variation as when litres decreases then the cost will also decrease.

31/2/49=15/x

31/98=15/x

x=15×98/31

x=1470/31

x=47.41 rupees

therefore the cost of 15 litres of petrol is 47. 41 rupees

Answer:

Given, Cost of 3.1/2 or 7/2 litres = ₹ 49

∴ Value of one litres milk = ₹ 49 ÷ 7/2

= ₹ 49 × 2/7

= ₹ 7 × 2 = ₹ 14

cost of 15 litres of milk = 14×15= ₹210
