The value of 'k' is equal to 2.

Given:

Point (3, 2) lies on the line kx + y = 8.

To Find:

The value of k.

Solution:

→ If a point (p, q) lies on a curve ax + by + c = 0, then it must satisfy the equation of the curve.

                                        ∴ a(p) + b(q) + c = 0

Since the point (3, 2) lies on the line kx + y = 8, therefore it must satisfy the equation of this line:

                                           ∴ k(3) + 2 = 8

                                           ∴ 3k = 6

                                           ∴ k = 2

Therefore the value of 'k' comes out to be equal to 2.
