LHS=3 +root2/3-root2

=(3+root2)(3+root2)/(3-root2)(3+root2)

=(3+root2)^2/(3-root2)(3+root2)

=(3) ^2+(root2)^2+2×3root2/3^2-root2^2

=9+2+6root2/9-2

=11+6root2/7

Now,

a+b^2=11+6root2/7

=a=11/7
