Answer:

The values of x and y are 11 and 5 respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, (3, 4) is the midpoint of (-5,3) and (x,y).

⇒ x-5/2 = 3

⇒ x-5 = 6

⇒ x = 6+5

⇒ x = 11

and

⇒ y+3/ 2 = 4

⇒ y + 3 = 8

⇒ y = 8-3

⇒y= 5

The values of x and y are 11 and 5 respectively

Using section formula,

x = \frac{mx_{1}+ nx_{2}}{m + n}

3= \frac{( - 5)+ x}{1+ 1}

3=  \frac{x - 5}{2}

3 \times 2 = x - 5

x = 6+ 5

x = 11

\: y \:   = \: \frac{my_{1}+ ny_{2}}{m + n}

4 =  \frac{3 + y}{1 + 1}

4 = \frac{3 + y}{2}

4 × 2 = 3 + y

y = 8 - 3

y = 5

Therefore, the value of co-ordinate B(x,y) is B(11,5).
