condition for A.P.
2B = A+C
2(4+p) = 3 + 7-p
8 + 2p = 10 - p
3p = 2
p = 2/3
2B = A+C
2(4+p) = 3 + 7-p
8 + 2p = 10 - p
3p = 2
p = 2/3

Hey!
------
Since : 3 , ( 4 + p ) and ( 7 - p ) are in AP,
They must have a common difference.
Common Difference d = A2 - A1
= 4 + p - 3
= 1 + p.............(1)
7 - p - 4 - p
= 3 -2p.............(2)
Put (1) and (2) equal,
= 1 + p = 3 - 2p
= -2 = -3p
= p = 2/3
