Given:-

•3/5 of a number exceed its 2/7 by 44.

To Find:-

•Find the number.

Solution:-

Let consider the number be x.

Now,

3/5 of a number = 3x/5

2/7 of a number = 2x/7

Now according to the question,

 \: \: \sf \: \frac{3x}{5} - \frac{2x}{7} = 44 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: \frac{21x - 10x}{35} = 44 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: \frac{11x}{35} = 44 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: x = 44 \times \frac{35}{11} \\ \\ \: \sf \: x = 4 \times 35 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: x = 140

Hence,the value of x is 140.

  • Linear equation is defined as for find the unknown value which is given in the question.
  • Generally it is in form of algebraic expression.
  • It may be addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
  • For find the value of x,we have to bring variables into left hand side and remaining value into right hand side. Then Solve the whole equation then we find the value of x.

Answer:

Since, it's given that 35 of a number exceeds its 27 or we can say that 35x is greater than 27x by 44 . Simplifying the above equation by taking its LCM. Therefore, from above we see that required number is 140. So, the correct answer is “140”.
