Let the number be x

By the given condition,

➜3/5 * x = 2/7 * x + 44

➜ 3/5 * x - 2/7 * x = 44

➜( 3/5 - 2/7 ) x = 44

➜(21 - 10)/35 * x = 44

➜x = (44*35) / 11

➜x = 4*35

➜x= 140

Given :-

  • If 3/5 of a number exceeds it's 2/7 by 44.

To find :-

  • The required number = ?

Solution :-

Let the required number be n

Then,

According to the question,

we need to find the difference between 3/5 - 2/7

\rm\longrightarrow\:\dfrac{3}{5}-\dfrac{2}{7}

\rm\longrightarrow\:\dfrac{21-10}{35}

\rm\longrightarrow\:\dfrac{11}{35}

Now,

\rm\:\dfrac{11}{35}\:of\:n=44

\rm\longrightarrow\:\dfrac{11}{35}\times{n}=44

\rm\longrightarrow\:\dfrac{11}{35}n=44

\rm\longrightarrow\:11n=44\times{35}

\rm\longrightarrow\:11n=1540

\rm\longrightarrow\:n=\cancel\dfrac{1540}{11}

\rm\longrightarrow\:n=140

Hence,the required number will be 140.
