Let x be the number.

Given, x * 3/5 = x*2/7+44

          = 3x/5-2x/7=44

          = (21x-10x)/35=44

          =  11x=44 * 35

         x=(44 * 35)/11

          x=140

So, the number is 140.

Hope this helps!

 \frac{3x}{5}  =  \frac{2x}{7}  + 44 \\  \frac{3x}{5}  -  \frac{2x}{7}  = 44 \\  \frac{21x - 10x}{35}  = 44 \\  \frac{11x}{35}  = 44 \\ x = 35 \times 4 \\ x = 140

shashankavsthi: same for u too!!!
