 \\  =  > 3 \times x = 8 \times 15 \\  =  > x =  \frac{8 \times 5 \times 3}{3}  \\  =  > x = 40

Given that 3,8,15 and x are in proportion.

Then, 3:8::15:x.

We know that product of extremes = product of means

3 * x = 15 * 8

x = (15 * 8)/3

x = 120/3

x = 40.


Therefore the value of x = 40.
