cost of 6 chairs and 1 table = 2400

consider

cost of chair be X

and cost of table be y

from first condition,

3x + y = 1500 -----------(1)

from second condition,

6x + y = 2400-----------(2)

subtract equation 2 from 1

6x + y = 2400

3x + y = 1500

X = 900/3

X = 300

therefore price of chair is 300

put the value of X as 300 in equation 1

3x + y = 1500

3×300 + y = 1500

900 + y = 1500

y = 1500-900

y = 600

therefore price of table is 600
