Answer:

let the cost of chair be denoted as x and table be y

therefore, 3x+y=1500. (first situation)

6x+y=2400(second situation)

now,subtracting (i) from (ii)

6x+y=2400

-(3x+y=1500)

=3x=900

x=900/3

x=300

cost of one chair is 300

therefore cost fo one table is

3x+y=1500

3*300+y=1500(putting the value of x)

900+y=1500

y=1500-900

y=600

cost of one table is 600

Given :  3 chairs and 1 table costs Rs. 1500 and

6 chairs and 1 table costs Rs.2400.

To Find : Form linear equations to represent this situation.

Solution:

Let say cost of 1 chair = Rs C

Cost of 1 table  = Rs  T

3 chairs and 1 table costs Rs. 1500

=> 3C  + T  = 1500   Eq1

6 chairs and 1 table costs Rs.2400.

=> 6C + T  = 2400  Eq2

Eq2 - Eq1

=> 3C = 900

=>  C = 300

2 * Eq1 - Eq2

=> T = 600

cost of 1 chair = Rs 300

Cost of 1 table  = Rs  600

3C  + T  = 1500

6C + T  = 2400
