Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let k =

2x^2 + x + k = 0

let the zeroes are 'u' & 'v'

u + v = -b/a

3 + v = - 1/2

v = - 1/2 - 3

v = - 7/2

so other zero is - 7/2

k( x^2 - x(u + v) + uv)

k { ( x^2 - x( 3 - 7/2) + 3( - 7/2)}

k { x^2 - x( - 1/2 ) + 3( -7/2) }

let k = 2

2x^2 + x - 21

2x^2 - 6x + 7x - 21

2x(x - 3) + 7(x - 3)

(x - 3) (2x + 7) = 0

x = 3 & x = - 7/2

so k value is - 21

and other zero is - 7/2
