If 3 is one root of the quadratic equation then it satisfies the equation

5x2 + kx + 3 = 0

5*9 + 3k +3 = 0

45 + 3k + 3 = 0

48 + 3k. = 0

3k. = -48

k. = - 16

Hence the given statement for the value of k is false

Hope it helps you
