1 .Let p(x)=x

2

+2x−a

As the zero of this polynomial is 3, we know that p(3)=0.

x

2

+2x−a=0

Put x=3, we get

(3)

2

+2(3)−a=0

⇒9+6−a=0

⇒15−a=0

⇒−a=−15

⇒a=15

2. Now, The polynomial is x² + 2x - 15 . x = -5 , x = 3 . Therefore, the other zero is -5 . If 3 is the zero of p(x) , then p(3) = 0.

I hope you are understand my solution
