If 3 men or 6 women can do a piece of work in 16 days, in how many days can 12 men and 8 women do the same trick

Since three men take 16 days to complete the work .

Three men complete (1/16)th the work in one day .

=> One man completes (1/(16*3))th = (1/48)th the work in one day .

Similarly one women completes (1/64)th the work in one day .

Therefore 12 men and 8 women complete 12*(1/48) + 8*(1/64) of the work in one day .

=> 12 men and 8 women complete 3/8th work in a day .

Therefore they take 8/3 days to complete the work .
