EXPLANATION.

⇒ √3tanθ = 1.

As we know that,

We can write equation as,

⇒ tanθ = 1/√3.

tanθ = perpendicular/base.

By using Pythagoras theorem.

⇒ H² = P² + B².

Hypotenuse > Perpendicular > Base.

⇒ H² = (1)² + (√3)².

⇒ H² = 1 + 3.

⇒ H² = 4.

⇒ H = √4.

⇒ H = 2.

Sinθ = Perpendicular/Hypotenuse = 1/2.

cosθ = Base/Hypotenuse = √3/2.

To find :

⇒ cos²θ - sin²θ.

Put the values in the equation, we get.

⇒ (√3/2)² - (1/2)².

⇒ 3/4 - 1/4 = 3 - 1/4 = 2/4 = 1/2.

cos²θ - sin²θ. = 1/2.

MORE INFORMATION.

(1) = sin²θ + cos²θ = 1.

(2) = 1 + tan²θ = sec²θ.

(3) = 1 + cot²θ = cosec²θ.
