Say, y=7+43–√−−−−−−−√

Squaring both sides we get

7+43–√=y2.

Equivalently 43–√=y2−7.

Squaring both sides again,

⟹48=(y2−7)2

⟺36<(y2−7)2<49

⟹6
⟺13
Since the right side of the inequality will give a better approximation of y

y≈14−−√≈3.7.
