given 3 x + 4y=4........i

and

2x+y=1

y=1-2x .......... ii

from I and ii we get

3x + 4(1 - 2x) =4

3x + 4 - 8x =4

3x - 8x= 4-4

-5x=0

x=0

from ii

y=1 - 2x0

y=0

therefore 2x + 3y

=2 x0 + 3 x 1

= 3
