Given:

➜ Three consecutive terms of an A.P = -3 , x , 2

To Find:

➜ Value of x

Solution:

We know, The difference between any two consecutive terms of an A.P is same( also known as common difference )

Since, the given terms are consecutive

∴ 2nd term - 1st term = 3rd term - 2nd term = common difference

because, They are in A.P

⇒ x - (-3) = 2 - x

⇒ x + 3 = 2 - x

⇒ x + x = -1

⇒ 2x = -1

⇒ x = -1/2

Hence, The value of x is -1/2
