3(x - y) = 27

x - y = 27/3

x - y = 9    ....(i)

3(x + y ) = 243

x + y = 243/3

x + y = 81   .....(ii)

Adding equation (i) and (ii),

x - y = 9

x + y = 81

=> x = 90/2

=> x = 45

Hence, the value of x is 45.
