[tex]solution \\ \\ \\ given \: equations \\ \\ 3(x + y) = 27 \: \: ..... \: (1) \\ \\ 3(x + y) = 81 \: \: ...... \: \: (2) \: \\ \\ from \: eq \: 1 \: we \: get \: \\ \\ x \: = \: 9 - y \: \: ...... \: \: (3) \\ \\ now \: substitute \: eq \: 3 \: in \: 2 \\ \\ we \: get \\ \\ 3(9 - y + y) = 81

27 – 3y + y = 81

–2y = 54

y = –27

hence , y = –27

now substitute y's value in eq 3 , we get

x = 9 – (–27)

then

x = 36
