Let the number be x.

Then,
30% of x = 30x/100
20% of x = 20x/100

According to question,

 \frac{30x}{100} = \frac{20x}{100} + 18

 = > \frac{30x}{100} - \frac{20x}{100} = 18

 = > \frac{30x - 20x}{100} = 18

 = > \frac{10x}{100} = 18

 = > 10x = 18 \times100

 = > 10x = 1800

 = > x = \frac{1800}{10}

 = > x = 180

Hence, the number is 180.

Hope it'll help.. :-D.

Answer:

180

Step-by-step explanation

30% of a number 'x' = 30/100 x = 0.3 x

20% of a number 'x' = 20/100 x = 0.2 x

As per the question,

0.3x = 0.2x + 18

0.1 x = 18

x = 180
