find the angle of elevation

Solution:

Height of town = Perpendicular = 300 m

It makes an angle of elevation at a point on ground with 300m away from its foot

So, Base = 300 m

To find Angle of elevation:

Tan \theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{Base}\\Tan \theta = \frac{300}{300}\\Tan \theta = 1\\\theta = tan^{-1}(1)\\\theta =45^{\circ}

Hence the angle of elevation is 45°
