if 32g of sulphur has x atoms then the number of atoms in 32g of oxygen will be..

solution : given mass of sulphur = 32 g

atomic mass of sulphur = 32g/mol

so the no of moles of sulphur = given mass/atomic mass = 32/32 = 1 mol

we know, 1 mole atom = 6.023 × 10²³ atoms

so, the number of sulphur atoms = x = 6.023 × 10²³ atoms ...(1)

again, given mass of oxygen = 32 g

atomic mass of oxygen = 16 g/mol

so the no of moles of oxygen = 32/16 = 2

now the no of oxygen atoms = no of moles of oxygen atoms × Avogadro's number = 2 × 6.023 × 10²³

from equation (1) we get

no of oxygen atoms = 2x

therefore the number of atoms in 32 g of oxgen will be 2x.
