Given that length of cloth required to stitch 35 shirts = 49/2.

Then the cloth required to stitch 1 shirt = 49/2 * 35

                                                                  = 49/70.

Therefore the length of cloth required to stitch 4 shirts = 49/70 * 4

                                                                                             = 0.7 * 4

                                                                                             = 2.8m.

Hope this helps!

Concept:

Fraction is the numerical representation of numbers in the form of Numerator and Denominator.

Given:

35 shirts of equal size can be stitched from 49/2 meters of cloth.

Find:

We are asked to find the length of the cloth required for each shirt, and the length of cloth required for 4 shirts of equal size.

Solution:

We have,

35 shirts of equal size can be stitched from 49/2 meters of cloth.

Now,

According to the question,

35 shirts cloth = 49/2 meters of cloth,

So,

Length of the cloth for one shirt = (49/2) ÷ 35

We get,

Length of the cloth for one shirt = 49/70 meters or 7/10 meters,

Now,

The length of cloth required for 4 shirts of equal size,

i.e.

= ( 7/10) × 4 =  2.8 meters

Hence, the length of the cloth required for each shirt is 7/10 meters, and the length of cloth required for 4 shirts of equal size is 2.8 meters.
