Answer:

260ml

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of container =l×b×h =18×15×12 =3240ml

Overflowed water = 3500-3240 = 260ml

Given :-

◉ 3500 mL of water is poured into a rectangular container.

◉ Dimensions of the rectangular container:

  • Length, L = 18 cm
  • Breadth, B = 15 cm
  • Height, H = 12 cm

To Find :-

◉ Volume of water overflowed from the container.

Solution :-

The rectangular container would not hold water more than its volume and the rest would be overflowed.

⇒ Volume of water overflowed = Volume of water poured - Volume of water that the rectangular container can hold ...(1)

Now, Since the container is rectangular

∴ Volume of container = L × B × H

⇒ Volume = 18 × 15 × 12

⇒ Volume = 3240 cm³

But, 1 cm³ = 1 ml

∴ Volume of water that the container can hold is 3240 mL

Substituting the volume of container and volume of water poured in (1), we get

⇒ Volume of water overflowed = 3500 - 3240

⇒ V = 260 mL

Hence, 260 mL water was overflowed from the container.

Some Information :-

1 cm³ = 1 mL and 1 = 1 L

◉ Volume of Cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height
