Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

35X is a multiple of 3 ,Where X is a digit .

To find:-

What is the value of X?

Solution:-

Given number = 35X

Since it is a multiple of 3 ,it must be divisible by 3

We know

The sum of the digits in a number is divisible by 3 then the number is divisible by 3.

Sum of the digits = 3+5+X = 8+X

So The multiple of 3 after 8 is 9

So, 8+X = 9

=> X = 9-8

=> X = 1

Therefore,X = 1

Answer:-

The value of X for the given problem is 1

Check:-

If X = 1 then the number becomes 351

The sum of the digits = 3+5+1 = 9

9 is divisible by 3.

351 is divisible by 3

351 is a multiple of 3

351 = 3×117

Verified the given relations in the given problem.

Used formulae:-

Divisibility by 3:-

The sum of the digits in a number is divisible by 3 then the number is divisible by 3.
