✪ Question ✪

If 36 trousers of equal size can be stitched with 64 m of cloth, what is the length of the cloth required for each trouser ?

✪ Given ✪

36 m of cloth is required to stitch 36 trousers.

✪ To find ✪

Cloth required for each trouser.

✪ Solution ✪

Let the length of cloth required to stitch each trouser be x m.

So we can say-

1:x :: 36:64

→ 36x = 64    ( cross multiplication)

→ x = 64/36

→ x = 1 ⁷/9

✪ Hence ✪

x = 1 ⁷/₉

✪ Therefore ✪

1 ⁷/₉ m of cloth is required for each trouser.
