Then, fist monkey got bananas = x/2
2nd monkey got bananas = 2x/3
and 3rd monkey got bananas = 3x/4

so, x/2 + 2x/3 + 3x/4 = 391
⇒ (6x + 8x + 9x)/12 = 391
⇒ 23x/12 = 391
⇒23x = 391 × 12
⇒x = 17 × 12
