Answer

4 Is the Answer

Step-by-step explanation:

3m - 8 = 4

= 8 transposed to Another Side = 3m = 4 + 8

( As signs get Changed When we Shift a number from one side of equation to another )

3m = 12

= m = 12/3 ( 3 changed To Multiply As Number will be  Transposed Divide 3 to Multiply )

= m = 4 Answer

To find :- If 3m – 8 = 4, then the value of ‘m’ is ____.

Solution :-

→ 3m - 8 = 4

using transposing method and changing plus sign of the term into minus sign on the other side and vice - versa

→ 3m = 4 + 8

→ 3m = 12

→ 3m = 3 × 4

dividing both sides by 3 now,

→ m = 4

Verification :-

→ 3m - 8 = 4

→ 3 × 4 - 8 = 4

→ 12 - 8 = 4

→ 4 = 4

→ LHS = RHS

therefore, m is equal to 4 .

Another way :-

→ 3m - 8 = 4

subtracting from 4 both sides ,

→ 3m - 8 - 4 = 4 - 4

→ 3m - 12 = 0

→ 3m = 12

now, dividing both sides by 3

→ m = 4 .
