3tanx = 4

=> tanx = 4/3

we know that, tanx = perpendicular/base

therefore,

perpendicular, p = 4 units

and base, b = 3 units

now, using Pythagoras theorem, we have,

h = √(p² + b²) = √4²+3² = √ 16+9 =√25 = 5

so, hypotenuse, h = 5 units.

cosx = base/ hypotenuse

=> cosx = 3/5
