3x² + 36x - 8 = 0

=> divide LHS and RHS by 3 ,

=> x² + 12 x - 8/3 = 0

using competing the square method to express the above equation as , ( x - M )^2 = n

=> (x)² + 2 × x × 6 + (6)² - (6)² - 8/3 =0

=> ( x + 6 ) ² = 36 + 8/3

=> { x - (-6) } ² = (108+8)/3

=> comparing with (x - M)² = n

we get ,

M = -6 , n = 116/3

=> M + 3n = -6 + 3(116/3)

=> M + 3n = -6 + 116 = 110
