Given :

  • 3x+2y = 10 ...............(1)
  • 2x + 3y = 15..............(2)

To find :

  • Value of x+y.

Solution :

3x+2y = 10 ...............(1)

2x + 3y = 15..............(2)

Now multiply 2 with eq(1) & 3 with eq(2) .

  • 6x+4y = 20 ..................(1)
  • 6x + 9y = 45.................(2)

Now apply elimination method .

6x + 4y = 20

6x + 9y = 45

(-). (-) (-)

→ -5y = -25

→ y = 5

Now put y = 5 in eq(1)

3x+2y = 10

→ 3x + 2×5 = 10

→ 3x + 10 = 10

→ 3x = 10-10

→ 3x = 0

→ x = 0

Now find the value of (x+y).

x + y

→ 0 + 5

→ 5

Therefore, the value of (x+y) is 5.
