xy = 30

Explanation:

3x - 2y = 3 (1)

2x + y = 16 (2)

(2) × 2

4x + 2y = 32 (3)

(1) + (3)

7x = 35

x = 5

Substituting x in (2),

y = 16 - 10

= 6

xy = 5 × 6

= 30
