Given
3x+4y=18 and xy=6

Value of 9x^2+16y^2

(a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2

Let a=3xand b=4y

(3x+4y)^2=(3x)^2+2(3x)(4y)+(4y)^2

(3x+4y)^2-2(3x)(4y)=9x^2+16y^2

=(18)^2-24(6)
= 324-144
=180
Hence 9x^2+16y^2=180
