3x+4y=16

⟹(3x+4y)2=162

⟹(3x+4y)(3x+4y)=256

⟹9x2+24xy+16y2=256.

Then xy=4

⟹9x2+24(4)+16y2=256

⟹9x2+96+16y2=256

⟹9x2+16y2=256−96
