If a : b :: c : d then ad = bc

( 3x + 5 ) : ( x + 6 ) :: 10 : 12

( 3x + 5 ) × 12 = ( x + 6 ) × 10

36x + 60 = 10x + 60

36x - 10x = 60 - 60

26x = 0

x = 0
