if 3x+5y=9,5x+3y=7 then find the value of x-y​

The answer is -1.

3x+5y = 9....(i)

5x+3y = 7.....(ii)

(i) × 5

(ii) ×3

15x+25y = 45....(iii)

15x+9y = 21......(iv)

Subtracting iv from iii

16y = 24

y = 1.5

Substituting y=1.5 in (i)

So, 3x + 7.5=9

x= 0.5

Now x-y = 0.5 - 1.5

= - 1
