Hey given that :-

3x + 5y = 9 ------( i )
and
5x +3y = 7 -------( ii )

multiplying eq ( i ) with 3 , and eq ( ii ) with 5 , we get

9x + 15y = 27
25x + 15y = 35

Now ,subtract both eq

9x + 15 y - 25x - 15y = 27 - 35
=> -16x = -8
=> x = 1 / 2

Now ,

3/ 2 + 5y = 9
=> 5y = 9 - 3/2
=> 5y = 15/2
=> y = 3/2 .
